There is an old adage that says when someone is out of sight, they are out of mind. Our track record of success can give us a good reason to stop seeking God in his word. His word tells us what to seek and where to find it. The Bible supports this belief with a scripture found in Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
This can be considered a catch-22 when you think about it. How is a man or woman supposed to find Jesus, if they are trapped in darkness and can see no way out?
If he lights the path, allowing us to move ahead then we need him more than we originally thought. Not being able to see God because of darkness can only happen because of one reason. We jumped ship.
We abandoned him and the path he led us to take. Seeing God show up in the form of supernatural miracles and healings normally seen on display in our worship services should be reason enough to follow him. Even subtle ways such as a random phone call of encouragement where a friend or loved one confirms what God has only spoken directly to you should be enough to stay on that right path.
Regardless of what he does to prove his love, people know what thus saith the Lord in his word and boldly proceed to go in the opposite direction anyway, and for simple reasons.
For the believer, the silent acquiescence and adoption of values that go directly against the will of God will lead them to a web spun specifically with them in mind. Just like the eagle in the sky gazing from above, God can see what our limited perspective will not allow us to. He can see into the future and will lead you to take precautionary measures you don't yet understand well before you face the attack of the enemy.
We won’t understand why we need his direction until simple things happen which have the potential to ruin a whole day planned without God, such as the loss of car keys or a wallet.
"Now is not the time to lose our keys, which symbolize authority to open and close doors."
What are the odds of losing your car keys and wallet on the day you set up lunch with the firm's biggest client? Small issues like these remind us just how much we need his help with every little thing. He knew we would lose those keys, he is just waiting on us to ask him for help to find them.
Now is not the time to lose our keys, which symbolize authority to open and close doors.
Let God lead you. He can do in seconds what it will take you months to do all by yourself.
